Sean F. Tierney
Hello, and welcome to the website for my new book.
I attended college in the late 1980s on a Navy ROTC scholarship, and after graduation I went to Navy Flight School in Pensacola. I stayed with the Navy for ten years, including two squadron assignments and an assignment as a Flag Aide at the Washington Navy Yard. When I decided to leave the Navy, I shifted to a career in software solutions engineering. Eventually, I began managing sales engineering teams that were home-based and geographically spread out, so I started sharing stories of some of my past adventures with them as a way to connect. Most of the stories come from my ten years in the Navy, but some are from my early days in the software industry. After one too many suggestions that I should make a book out of these stories, I decided to give it a try.
Out Over Blue Water is my first attempt at writing anything of significance. It is a loose collection of misadventures, hijinks, and characters presented in no chronological order and punctuated with a few insights and lessons learned. I hope you enjoy reading about them.
